Jackson State University partners with City of Jackson for National Planning Month Events

This project is a collaborative effort between the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Jackson State University and the Planning Department with the City of Jackson.  The main goal is to promote "Planning Month" and to bring awareness to the field. 

Tuesday, October 4, 2016-The City Council for Jackson will issued an official proclamation in honor of "National Planning Month" at 6:00 p.m.

Friday, October 14, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.-"Cinema in the City" will kick off as each Friday of October and November, a planning related movie will be shown at the 101 W. Capitol Street downtown JSU campus on the first floor.  Immediately following will be a discussion about the movie.  Light refreshments will be served.  This event is free and open to the public!  

Friday, October 21, 2016-There will be a Poster Contest at Jackson State University for middle and high school students.  Set up is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.  During the judging, students will be introduced to planning and be given the opportunity to participate in planning related activities.

Monday, October 31, 2016-Planning Panel Discussion-Jackson State University, 101 W. Capitol Street in downtown Jackson.  Time of the event is 12 noon.
