The Mississippi Chapter of the American Planning provided travel support to three Jackson State University students enrolled in the Urban and Regional Planning Program (URP). Ramina Aghili and Arash Ghahramani are currently students in the master’s program while Jessica Sharp is enrolled in the doctoral program. Students receiving support were required to meet specific criteria and that included a statement of financial need, minimum tenure of one year in URP, a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and a poster or other presentation at an APA Mississippi conference, professional development seminar or other planning related activity. Students were also required to write an essay post conference discussing their learning experiences and the benefits gained from attending the national conference.
